Terms of Service

The GroceryChop website and mobile application are operated by Azenshials LLC, a California limited liability company. In these Terms, "GroceryChop", "we", "us" and "our" mean Azenshials LLC.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the GroceryChop website and mobile application ("Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement.

2. Use License

Permission is granted to temporarily download one copy of the materials (information or software) on GroceryChop's Service for personal, non-commercial transitory viewing only. This is the grant of a license, not a transfer of title, and under this license you may not:

  • Modifying or copying the materials
  • Using the materials for any commercial purpose or for any public display
  • Attempting to decompile or reverse engineer the Service
  • Removing any copyright or other proprietary notations from the materials
  • Transferring the materials to another person or "mirroring" the materials on any other server

3. Disclaimer

The materials on GroceryChop's Service are provided on an 'as is' basis. GroceryChop makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims and negates all other warranties including, without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property or other violation of rights.

4. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event shall GroceryChop or its suppliers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or savings, or business interruption, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose or (b) US$100. Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these limitations, so they may not apply to you.

5. Accuracy of Prices and Information

Prices, deals, product details, availability and store information on the Service are collected from third-party sources, including retailer websites, weekly-ad services and retailer APIs, at the time shown next to each price (for example, "Updated 3h ago"). They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and the price on the shelf, online or at checkout may differ by store, time, loyalty-card status, coupons and taxes. Always confirm the price with the retailer before you buy. GroceryChop does not sell groceries, does not honor or guarantee any retailer's price, and is not responsible for purchase decisions you make based on the Service.

Answers from ChopBot, our AI assistant, and automatic readings of photos you upload are generated by artificial intelligence and can be wrong. Check anything important yourself.

6. Links

GroceryChop has not reviewed all of the sites linked to its website and is not responsible for the contents of any such linked site. The inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by GroceryChop of the site. Use of any such linked website is at the user's own risk.

7. No Affiliation; Trademarks

GroceryChop is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any retailer, brand or delivery service shown on the Service. We participate in the affiliate programs listed on ourAffiliate Disclosure page; those programs do not mean the retailer endorses GroceryChop. Retailer names, logos, product names and product images are the trademarks or property of their respective owners and are used only to identify the retailer or product being compared. If you own a mark or image shown on the Service and want it changed or removed, contact us at sw@grocerychop.com.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • use any robot, spider, scraper or other automated means to access, copy or collect content or data from the Service, except that general-purpose search engines and AI assistants may fetch individual pages in accordance with our robots.txt;
  • copy, resell, redistribute, or build a database or competing product from the prices, product data or other content on the Service, except where a page states its own license (for example, the GroceryChop Price Index dataset);
  • bypass or interfere with any rate limit, access control or security measure of the Service;
  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose; or
  • upload content you do not have the right to share, or content containing other people's personal information.

We may block or limit access that we believe violates these Terms.

9. Your Contributions

If you submit content to the Service, such as shelf-tag photos, price reports, receipt images, list names or feedback, you keep any ownership you have in it, and you grant Azenshials LLC a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive license to use, copy, store, process, modify and publish it, and to create aggregated or derived data from it, to operate, improve and promote the Service and as described in our Privacy Policy. You confirm that you have the right to submit it and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Please do not include faces, card numbers, loyalty numbers or other personal information in photos. We may review, reject or remove contributions at any time. Points or badges earned for contributions have no cash value.

10. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Azenshials LLC from any claims, losses and costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or content you submit.

11. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or end your access to the Service at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, or if we discontinue the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time and may delete your account on the Delete Account page. Sections 3, 4, 5, 7, 9 and 10 survive termination.

12. Copyright Complaints

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, email sw@grocerychop.com with: your contact details; a description of the copyrighted work; the URL of the material; a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent or the law; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner; and your physical or electronic signature. We will review the notice and remove material where appropriate.

13. Modifications

GroceryChop may revise these terms of service for the Service at any time without notice. By using the Service, you are agreeing to be bound by the then current version of these terms of service.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You and Azenshials LLC each irrevocably consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in San Diego County, California, for any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service.

15. Data Use and Anonymized Insights

By using the Service, you acknowledge and consent to our collection of usage data as described in our Privacy Policy. You further acknowledge and agree that we may aggregate, anonymize, and share, sell, or license insights derived from this usage data — in a form that does not identify you personally — to third parties including but not limited to grocery retailers, consumer packaged goods brands, market research firms, financial analysts, and academic researchers.

The categories of anonymized data we may share or sell include search queries, product views, price comparisons, store selections, deal interactions, ZIP-prefix-level geographic patterns, and aggregate engagement statistics. Before sharing data with any third party, we apply industry-standard anonymization techniques as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not share or sell information that personally identifies you (such as your name, email address, account credentials, or full address) without your explicit consent.

California residents may opt out of the sale of their personal information at any time by contacting us at sw@grocerychop.com, as described in our Privacy Policy.
