Grocery prices by metro area
What a basket of everyday groceries costs in each U.S. market we can measure honestly — and how that cost is moving. Every figure comes from prices observed in real stores, and any market that doesn't clear our minimum-sample thresholds is withheld rather than estimated.
A note on reading this table: basket costs are indicative, not a precise ranking. What clears our sample thresholds differs by market, so part of the gap between two cities is composition rather than price. The month-over-month change is the like-for-like figure — it compares the same items at the same stores.

In-store and delivery figures are separate series and are never blended. A delivery basket cost includes platform markup — compare it only to other delivery figures. We deliberately do not publish a “delivery premium” per market: the two series don't price an identical item mix, so their difference would measure coverage as much as markup.
